Background Information
This repossessed property was purchased in 2011 and started off as a 2 bedroom semi-detached house. As with many properties of this type, it was in a very poor state of repair and required extensive refurbishment.
The plan for this property was for it to become a rental property and fortunately, within a very short time after purchase, a long term tenant was found. As a result, the refurbishment has been tailored to suit the requirements of the tenant, by converting one of the bedrooms into two rooms and incorporating built-in bunk beds. The paint colours were also chosen by the tenant, thereby making the property feel more like their very own home, rather than just another house to live in.
The refurbishment work involved the complete removal and replacement of the existing central heating system, re-plastering throughout, re-decorating throughout, a new flat roof was required in the kitchen, re-fitting of the kitchen with a new extended layout and appliance to incorporate new worktops, new floors throughout, new bathroom suite, tiling in both the kitchen and bathroom plus many other jobs.
All the work was completed within 12 weeks and the tenant has subsequently moved in and is enjoying living in their new home.
